A Tale of Two Cities

A day just isn't a day until you've been to Ikea twice...

Ikea #1: Burbank. The only one I've been to and the closest one. Upon arriving in the store, also the one that does not carry half of what we are there for. And we didn't drive with a baby for two hours to get half of our list. So we headed east.

Ikea #2: West Covina. The so called "100%" Ikea. Apprently the Ikea we've been going to is a "40%" or something store. One of the two smallest in the country. And here we've arrived at the 100% store, meaning if Ikea makes it, they sell it. If Ikea Burbank has it in white, West Covina has it in white, blue and plaid. And crowds? What crowds? You could actually shop in this store. We hit a little traffic on the way back, but totally worth the stress-free shopping and I'm thinking this may be the new location of choice for the next trip.

Part of our list included replacing our bed, as well as getting our first ever bed frame as a couple! The one I had in mind ended up looking way too cheap when we saw it in stores, so we purchased a different one that I am really happy with. Can I just say that I love how Ikea puts all their little parts all mixed together in one baggie? Not sure why, I just like digging through finding the right part. The bed frame is assembled. It took all day since Baby also naps up here.
The mattress support (?) was easily the worst thing I've ever had to assemble. Not necessarily hard, but insanely tedious. We were going to get a box spring, but since it wouldn't fit in our car we went with this skeleton like frame (which Eli was really hoping for anyways!).
After an entire day of assembling, it was completely put together around 7:30pm, with half an hour to make the bed before the baby had to go to bed (and before Grey's Anatomy was on). I had been setting aside money so we could go all out and get new pillows (our old ones had definately seen better...and whiter....days) and a comforter. This is also the first time we've had a whole "sheet and comforter" set up for our bed. It makes me want to make the bed every morning...but we'll see how long it takes for that to wear off!
Once I made the bed, it was quickly unmade to sleep in so there's no picture, but I'll get one posted soon!
