Quick Baby Food
Breakfast
Quick oats mixed with some baby oatmeal (to give it a creamier consistency...and to use them up!) cooked on the stove-top, with fresh peaches and nutmeg. I love this because I have a bowl right along with him. Except I add a little butter to mine. Actually...a lot of butter. Mmm.
Lunch
Organic Baby Salsa: Avacado, roma tomato (blanched first to remove the skin) & cilantro. Can be spoon fed or eaten with fingers!

Baby Food
The last two weeks Baby has refused his food. Or purees rather. Only yogurt would be eaten, his favorite food of all. And greenies (fruit & vege puffs...we just call them greenies in our house). He was most definately ready for the next step. I had originally thought about making his baby food, but ended up buying it because the price was so much cheaper and the availability of a variety of foods no matter the season. The main thing I really wanted was to give him organic foods with no preservatives or additives and it was easy with brands like Earth's Best, Gerber organics, Plum & Happy Baby. That and I attempted some banana puree and it just looked awful. Didn't taste as good as jarred banana either. Yes, I taste everything he eats.
So I've been giving him small pieces of fruit and veges, and today he had his first culinary experience (okay maybe not that gourmet!). A blend of quinoa, brown rice, zuchini, olive oil, parsley, garlic, and onion powder. MMmmmm and it was a hit! I wouldn't mind eating a bowl either...
