Concealed

Now that the laundry nook is looking all spiffy...I've covered it up! Since I was using a curtain track system and attaching it to the ceiling (or molding rather), it was all going to show. And I didn't want it to...so I used some Gorilla Liquid Nail to attach a piece of molding to what was already there to hide all the hardware. I applied verrrrryyy little glue (it said it would expand 3-4 times the size. They were wrong. It expanded like 30-40 times. So needless to say I've got a little dried glue that oozed out. But I'm thinking it should scrape off pretty easily and then I plan on painting all the door trim in the house at once later on. Other than that, the Liquid Nail worked awesome, the stuff is strong.
And here's the curtains closed.
And opened! It definatly gives the hallway a cleaner feel, and I love the translucent flower prints. Fun!

Laundry Nook

A poor excuse for a laundry room. Though I lust for a laundry room that would make Martha Stewart do a double take, out Harry Potter room under the stairs will have to make do!
We donated the washer & dryer, removed the bi-fold doors and scraped all the linoleum. Shortly after, I painted it. There's no picture of it most likely because I immediately knew the color was sooooo wrong. The color itself was actually pretty, a very bold caribbean blue/teal, but in such a small space with a huge chunk of wall where the stairs are it only emphasized the tinyness. And although on a different wall it could have been really fun and bold...it gave me a swap meet vibe everytime I passed it.
I finally got the time to repaint it, and this time it looks so much better and brighter with a white tinted blue/tealish color. And I spray painted the old yellowing box where the water valves hook up and hung lots of shelving so I can quit stacking everything on and in front of the washer and dryer. And I somehow was able to have enough room for all our cleaning supplies that had previously been under the kitchen sink, so now they are well out of reach for our mobile, door-loving baby.
