This is the second year Eli and I have made Amaretto after finding this awesome
recipe. And this is the first year I got to taste it! Last year I bottled it in swing cap bottles, which turned out really cute, but also a little pricey since we had to order them online. This year I saved up spaghetti and baby food jars. Some for family (fancied up with old ornaments)...

And since I was in a very DIY gifting mood, I took an inexpensive white porcelain bowl and jazzed it up with a Porcelain marker from Michaels after seeing
this adorable post! The bowl went to my Mom!
Our Christmas-winter table. I already had all the candlesticks and a piece of fabric lying around that was the pefect length for a makeshift runner. The front tree is an old school magazine tree I made and covered in glitter, the feather tree I also made with a $2 cone and $2 feathers from Michaels, and the silver tinsel one in the back was $2.50 in the dollar bins at Target.
We forgoed the traditional "Baby's 1st Christmas" ornaments and went for something that would remind us of his first year, so we found this little giraffe at World Market. Baby seems to have an attraction to giraffes, perhaps because of their easy to grab necks and his Sophie teether is a giraffe. We also went to the zoo and he got to feed the giraffes...so it seemed fitting.
And so we can always remember how tiny his hand was, I used Sculpey clay to cut out the outline of his handprint. This one is definatly my favorite and I may have to find a place to hang it year round!
