Laundry Soap

Inspired by the Duggar Family (17 Kids and Counting!), we have successfully brewed our own laundry soap! The intial cost of the bucket, 4 containers, cheap grater, and the ingredients was around $20. The actual ingredients total around $3, so it's easy to see that this stuff is CHEAP! We found everything we needed at Winco.

Grate 1 bar of Fels-Naptha soap and dissolve over medium heat in 4 cups of water.
Fill a 5 gallon bucket half full with hot water, 1 cup of Washing Soda...
...half a cup of Borax....
...and the melted soap.
Stir until well dissolved, fill the bucket the rest of the way with more hot water. Stir again, cover, and let it sit over night to thicken.
Stir again and fill the soap containers half full with the soap, and then top off with warm water. Shake before each use.
And now we can enjoy our homemade soap!
