Baby Owl

It's been a very long time since my last post. But I'm back. At least today...

After coming across directions for a baby owl costume on Martha Stewart, I knew our boy would make the cutest owl ever. And upon costume completion, I was not disappointed. Teddy begged for wings of his own, and I happily obliged.

We Moved!

It was a year long process to finally get into a house in town and we are definately happy with the change! We love the city and being able to walk to the bookstore or go grab coffee, although it is still my dream to end up in a nice suburban community with a backyard and a garage!

And on top of all the stress of buying a home (including 12 offers and 4 failed escrows)...we found out we were expecting! I was elated to say the least...but then reminded that I was still in an escrow that hadn't closed. And if it did close, we got ourselves a major fixer-upper that we weren't going to live in right away. Ahhh! I prayed we wouldn't have the baby sleeping in a drawer at my parents house. And prayers were answered! We moved in four months before he was born, with no flooring downstairs, no kitchen besides an oven and fridge just sitting there, and all of our worldly possessions piled in boxes fresh from storage. And crazy as it all has been (and still is), it's been worth it. Baby was born in April and I have a feeling he's going to turn out to be an amazing handyman!

And because late is better than never I'll give a formal tour and lots of before, during and after pictures. Come to think of it, is there ever a real "after" when it comes to a home? It seems like there is always something to be done, or tweak, or paint colors I change my mind about. Emphasis on the paint colors changing...I'm picking out the THIRD color for our master bedroom. Hopefully this time I'll get it right!

Anyways, pictures to follow, room by room!

The pack

Wile was a little under the weather this weekend, most likely from his change in diet, but he was back on his feet and doing good since last night! He loves running around with Rose and Birdy and chasing Steve. And he's got a special spot in Eli's heart!

Wile Coyote

Eli found this little guy in a ditch in an empty housing track while he was working, with a Christmas tree and trash and barely alive. He looks about four weeks old, and also appears to have striking similarities…to a coyote! We’re taking care of him for now, making sure he gets all his strength back and keeping him hydrated so we can watch him grow a little and get a better feel for what he is, and then if our intuitions are true we’ll contact CALM or something of the sort. Although I wouldn’t mind a coyote pet.

Design Boards

Since I don't have anything of interest to blog besides a mess of house problems, I will share my "work in progress" design boards for what I am hoping will soon be our house! I've only got part way through it and I change stuff and add stuff to it quite often, I stil have to do the kitchen, bathroom, office, and backyard, but quit a few weeks ago when I didn't think it mattered anymore! Enjoy!

Crib Sheets!

Cute crib sheets! They are on sale at Pottery Barn before they discontinue them. I think I may get them.

Highchair!

Our new hand-me-down Jenny Lind style highchair from the Ridgeway's! We can't wait to refinish it...and use it!
And an uncooperative hairy baby! Guess we need a real one to fill this seat!
