Election Day!

Bentley

We're babysitting Henry's 6 week old Labrodoodle this week! Although I think we might steal her, I mean keep her...for ourselves! She's extremely needy and loves to cry her heart out!

Wedding Cake!

I am offering to give the first two brides who come to me a wedding cake for only $50. Just a hint, that's INSANELY cheap! Why am I doing this for no profit in my pocket? For one, I don't have any references for something as dramatic as a wedding, I do a lot of birthday parties and cupcakes at the moment. Second, I am extremely determined to get my name out so that I will be successful in opening my own bakery. And I am enlisting your help.

Who is eligible?
ANYBODY that is having a wedding with 50 or more guests and trusts me with their cake.

What do you get?
Pretty much whatever you want. For $50 I will make a cake to serve anywhere between 50-200 depending on your guest list. (After 200, we'll talk!). You decide the flavor, I will even host a tasting. You tell me your theme and together we'll come up with a cake design! Wanting to try something different? The latest trends in modern weddings are cupcake trees! A cupcake for each guest! No knife, no plate, just cupcake! The same deal goes for cupcakes...50-200 people, your flavor, your theme! The only exception to $50 is if you want real flowers, then I might need to charge flower cost, but that's only fair!

What do I get out of it?
This is where your part comes in...I just require that you make my business cards available on the cake table on your wedding day. And yes, you can move them for pictures! But this is how you will help me get my name out! Also, a picture of the bride & groom eating the cake to use as a portfolio picture.

Getting married?
Then be the first two couples to contact me! Email me at heather@bergmanbakeshop.com with your contact information so I may get a hold of you. Ideally you should include your wedding date, expected number of guests, your theme or colors, and any comments about what you want to see in a cake!

Today

Today is my 23rd birthday. I woke up to the most amazing husband holding a plate of french toast. The best breatfast...EVER! I found $20 in a purse pocket I never use. Score! After 10 months of taking our own trash to the dump, we have received our brand new trash can. I cannot wait to get home to see it in all it's glory. My team at work decorated my desk, brought in food and a cake, and got together to get me a Michael's gift card. I am quite eager to wipe out the balance. Stephanie came and brought Togos, sponsored by Dad, and a cute zip up sports jacket. Too cool! I've got my cake menu for Sunday planned, did the grocery shopping last night, and scalloped the edges of the throw away table clothes. And made myself some flag sort of garland thing. I like it, and will probably leave it up, so every day can look like the party it is :) Cousin Justice is going to help me with the bakery website. It's going to be amazing! Eli is sick this week :( I want him to be better. And even in his sniffliness he's cleaned around the house and still packs my lunch and makes me coffee and breakfast. He can't be stopped! Best husband EVER!

Random, but here are some old pictures of Eli and I with our first ever chicken egg. Definately an event worth celebrating.

And this is the Meyers Lemon cake I would like an excuse to make, in full scale.

On Saturday I helped out at the Urner's Jr Chef, a kids cooking class! The theme was, of course, HALLOWEEN! Here's some pictures of some of the kids and their cupcakes!

Coming Soon!

A not so great picture of my business card on the computer screen, but you get the idea! I bought the website last night too! It's just a mess of a site as I'm not too knowledgeable in web design, but hopefully I will get some help soon! For now, check out the blogspot with a bunch of my pictures... www.bergmanbakeshop.blogspot.com

For Sale!

1991 Ford Taurus Station Wagon
V8 3.6
Blue w/ blue interior
$1000 OBO

[picture to come!]

It has no body damage besides a scuff on the front bumper and small scratches you would expect with an older car, the interior still looks decent, not ripped or anything, just minor stains on the floor, the engine was replaced about 2 years ago as well as numerous other parts like the inner sockets, rebuilt the brakes, I have all of this recorded. It has a new air compressor for the AC, but I never had the money to have it freon charged (I think it costs around $150?) so it just has to be flushed to make sure there is no leaks and oiled I believe they said (because it's just been sitting there). It's got a lot of miles (I don't remember how many though! I'll look!) I've never had a problem with it passing smog tests, I just had it registered in August and it passed without a problem. It drives good, besides the fact that it's an older car and you of course expect to have to keep up more maintenance than a newer car, it drives quite well. The one problem I have right now is paying close attention to the transmission fluid levels, I think there may be a leak somewhere. I wouldn't recommend it for cross country traveling of course! But it's good for around town, and it seats 8 :)

Oh and it has a radio/cassette player...but I do have a CD player that I just never got around to installing, but it's there for whoever takes the car! The speakers in the car are not good, the left side is pretty much nonexistent, but from what I hear for about $100 you can easily put in new speakers (if you do it yourself).
